Children’s Museum of Cheyenne

A one of a kind place that inspires the love of learning and a community catalyst. That has been our mission since we started. We are honored to be included in the Urban Edge Advocacy efforts. It has been our vision to be a part of our downtown revitalization and growth and to support our community as a desired attraction, since we became a nonprofit 501c3 in 2014.

CMC purchased the half-block of 1618 O’Neil Avenue in downtown Cheyenne and the property is shovel-ready, thanks to a grant from the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality. Phase one construction will commence in Spring 2022 on a 4,400 SF stand-alone building with 538 SF of additional outdoor exhibit and play space. The floor plan offers flexible space for educational and enrichment programs, traveling exhibits, art and maker-space activities, and revenue-producing rental space for birthday parties and private functions.

Indoor and outdoor areas provide community gathering space for special events, workshops, hands-on learning activities, and free play. The 1618 O’Neil property offers ample space for the future development of a second phase building of up to 18,000 SF. Current and future phases will boost tourism and local traffic, acting as an economic driver and a vital link in infrastructure development between downtown Cheyenne and the West Edge District. All while supporting our community’s children and families by providing crucial, informal, early childhood learning opportunities.

CMC has contracted with a local architect firm, StudioRED, and construction company, 5R Construction. We have completed the review and permit process with the City of Cheyenne.
